Thistle Killya Scotch Quad is a hybrid between a Scotch Ale and a Belgian Quad. ABV 11%, aged for a full year in Macallan Scotch barrels, it showcases a sublime maltiness, intertwined with a Belgian yeast character, and finished off with notes of smooth single malt Scotch whisky.

Just in time for the holiday madness, we got the fuel to keep you going. We’ve brewed a big imperial stout with a ton of oats, lactose and a touch of spice on the back-end, to create a sweet full bodied beer with rich flavors of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and cinnamon.

We brewed the perfect beer for you holiday festivities, a spiced cranberry sour. This beer is brewed with Pilsner and wheat malts, then conditioned on 260 pounds of cranberries for two weeks to give it a pleasant fruity tartness. Added a touch of coriander and cinnamon to give it a well rounded, balanced feel to it.

Our next beer in the directional pale ale series. We used our base pale ale recipe of pale, wheat and oat malt, and hopped it up with all New Zealand grown hops Green Bullet and Pacific Gem. Citrusy Piney and floral.

To honor our local popularity of peanuts in the state of Virginia, we wanted to make a beer to commemorate them. The perfect marriage of PB and chocolate in a beer

Heady Harvest Wet Hopped IPA is made with Canadian hemp flour and  fresh Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Zeus wet hops harvested from local VA farms.  We have high hopes you will partake in this super dank and hoppy collaboration with our good friends at Kulture.

It Gose… is our version of a traditional German sour. Brewed as a 50/50 split of Pilsner/Wheat malts and salt, this session-able sour will keep you coming back for more. Notes of lemon, dewy grass, hay and coriander.

Our Boodwooger India Brown Ale with Gingerbread

Our Boodwooger India Brown Ale with Chocolate Chai.

Boodwooger is a different take on our flagship staple brown ale, Woodbooger. Brewed with pale malt and loads of specialty malts, Boodwooger is very balanced and drinkable. Dry hopped with Columbus and Centennial hops to give it aromas of black pepper, resin, orange rind and vanilla. Finishes of bitter chocolate and mahogany.

Asteroids Fearing Mars is our second iteration of our rotating IPA series, AFM. AFM #2 is a single IPA brewed with pilsner malt, raw wheat and oats. Hopped gently with El Dorado and Calypso hops. This beer was then conditioned on 160+ pounds of grapefruit puree to give it a soft, fruity body. Like you’re biting into that morning grapefruit.

Our house IPA Palooza was DDH with loads of Azacca hops to shine and showcase it’s hop flavors. Notes of tropical fruit, pear , mango and Virginia Orchards.

Our classic Belgian IPA with a touch of cherry. A blend of Motueka, Wakatu, Pacifica, Topaz and Pacific Gem hops from Australia and New Zealand, emerges from the malt foundation and blossoms into a sublime burst of flavors like citrus fruits, succulent melons and flowery herbs.

Our interpretation of a popular soft beverage turned into a beer shandy may make you say Fore!  Daily Palmer is a crisp, refreshing iced tea lemonade shandy, brewed with oolong tea and ripe lemon juice. Subtle, yet complex, Daily Palmer has aromas of citrus and wood, and is well-rounded with a lemony tartness complemented by notes of honey to add just a touch of sweetness.

Bright and soft, Turning Torso is floral farmhouse ale fermented with a mixture of farmhouse and brett blends of yeast. Galaxy and Huell Melon hops give this beer a fruity and floral nose with a funky finish.

A fun twist on a traditional beer. Brewed with pilsner malt and Mandarinia Bavaria hops, this light crisp ale was boiled with limes and kaffir lime leaf to give it a pop of flavor.

What’s your currant mood? Ours is filled with loads of Black Currants (168 pounds to be exact) and sweetness in this full bodied 7.6% gose. Tart and refreshing.

Astounding Flying Monkeys is our first iteration in our rotating IPA series, AFM. Brewed with Pale and wheat malts, this Double IPA is full bodied with notes of white wine, grape must and apricot rind. We dry hopped this DIPA twice with heaps of Nelson and Calypso hops to accentuate the beer with fruity dankness.

We’ve taken our heavenly IPA recipe of Palooza and dry-hopped it entirely and immensely with Citra hops. Loads of mango, guava, and tropical aromas in this one. Juicy and dankness in a glass!

Straightforward citrusy and fruity IPA, balanced with a mild malt character. Mosaic, Green Bullet, Calypso, Palisade and Nugget hops.

This being the first beer ever brewed on our new 10-barrel Metalcraft brewhouse in Fredericksburg, we went with simplicity to help us baseline the system. As a pleasant enhancement, this Belgian Farmhouse Saison has a prominent hop aroma utilizing Mosaic, Nugget, and Calypso hops. Light, approachable, and easy drinking, this beer was brewed as a homecoming, to welcome back our owner and founder Neil Burton to his hometown of Fredericksburg, Fred Vegas, and FXBG.

Conceived on the beaches of Maui under a full moon, come to you this creamy porter that features coconut with a hint of vanilla. Robust yet balanced, this is one Maui Wowie you won’t mind getting busted with by Five-O.

Palooza is the beer of the century. Heaven in a glass, Palooza is a party in your mouth with tropical flavors of mango, passionfruit and pears. This IPA has a pilsner/wheat base, with loads of oats and brewed with Azacca, Cascade and Pacifica hops. After drinking a glass of this, you can now die happy.

Nottingham Striker is our light and easy drinking English Ale, brewed with a variety of specialty malts for a complex, sweet, yet session-able beer. Lightly hopped with Perle and horizon hops to add subtle notes of green tea, spicy pepper and herbs. Calm and relaxing. 

Our first of many iterations using our house ale yeast blend to produce NE style IPA’s and ales. Always forward is a 6.2% NE style pale ale, hopped with Citra, El Dorado and Centennial. This juicy ale was double dry-hopped and packs punches of pear, watermelon, passionfruit and lemons. Always forward, never back.

The Totally Tubular Kirsche Radler is the perfect marriage of a light lager and flavorful cherry soda.  The Radler style was invented in the Roaring 20’s to be light enough to enjoy all day and still be upright to cycle home at the end of the day.  Radler is Bavarian dialect for the German word Radfahrer, or cyclist in English.  Prost and ride on!

Not all simians were able to control the magnitude of destruction they inflicted upon this once great planet. The ever increasing terrors of man quickly turned into global devastation on an epic scale. Apes were forced from their natural habitats, sequestered on urban streets that lay under ruins from the carnage, and left to forage for basic life-giving necessities. Their immune systems, superior to man’s, still required the use of gas masks for survival, while humans barely clung to life. Relegated to roaming the harsh terrain in search of a mortal’s cure, this series of barrel aged imperial stouts represent the last hope for mankind’s resurgence, as we lay on the brink of Ape Armageddon.

In collaboration with the iconic folks from Mamma ‘Zu, edo’s squid, Dinamo & 8 1/2, we sought to sanctify the religious experience of their world class tiramisu as a brew. This luscious porter underwent months of rum barrel aging with cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and coffee from local roaster Black Hand.
